See The Relief Items Donated To IDPs In Maiduguri (Photos)



The distribution train of Relief items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) made a stop in Maiduguri, Borno State recently.

The National Logistics Committee visited Maiduguri to finalize arrangement for the distribution of the items.

First port of call was the Garrison Commander’s Office, Pompomari, where the team was received by the Commander, Col. Kumapayi.


The team Nigeria Custom Service thereafter paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Tukur Yusuf Buratai at the Command Headquarters of Operation Lafiya Dole.

Finally they branched at the Government House, where His Excellency, Kashim Shettima, the Executive Governor of Borno State was waiting to receive the delegation. With him were Principal Officials of the State Government, Legislators, Community Leaders among others.


The official flags-off ceremony was done at Bakassi Camp, where Displaced Persons had turned out in their numbers to witness the ceremony.

The Governor was full of praises for the initiative, noting that the Federal Government had indeed showing that it had a caring heart

In his remarks, the Executive Governor of Borno State expressed gratitude to President Mohammadu Buhari for the love and care he has demonstrated for victims of insurgency in Borno State.

The items donated during this intervention are:

1. 19,395 (50/25/10 KGs) RICE
2. 6,28 VEGETABLE OIL (25&20 Litres/Pieces)
3. 1,000 Cartons SOAP
4. 360 Bales USED CLOTHS
5. 30 Bales NEW CLOTHS
6. 300 Pieces WRAPPER
7. 12 Pieces BED SHEETS
9. 505 Cartons SPAGHETTI
10. 300 Cartons FOOTWEAR
11. 800 Bags MOSQUITO COIL
12. 22 (50 KG) Bags SUGAR
