MAMA Award 2016: Yemi Alade Wins “Best Female Act”



Effyzzie Music Group sensational singer, Yemi Alade, has won the highly coveted Best Female Act Awards at the 2016 MAMA Awards.

The award-winning act went head on against Supreme Mavin Dynasty (SMD) songstress, Tiwa Savage, and other African talents like Josey (Ivory Coast), Mz Vee (Ghana) and Vanessa Mdee (Tanzania).

Alade stunned the event with an outstanding live performance to her hit single “Koffi Anan” followed by another stellar performance to her pan-African collaborative track titled “Africa”, featuring afro-pop Kenyan group Sauti Sol.

MAMA Africa, as she is now being referred to, also won the award in 2015.

Yemi Alade came into lime light after releasing her groundbreaking single in 2013 titled “Johnny”.

Other Nigerian acts nominated for awards are Wizkid, Olamide, Patoranking, Ycee.
