As inevitable as death could be, we have so many people living up to many decades, as a matter of fact, there are many celebrities in Nigeria and beyond that are over 60 years of age with healthy status. However, it is very natural to see young people leaving this world at a very sad age which has left their people in everlasting agony as it is so difficult to move on with the news of their demise.
Like every other country in the world, Nigeria have also experienced some of their young stars being handled by the cold hands of death and here are some of the young celebrities in Nigeria who died prematurely:-
Young Olaitan Oladapo Olaonipekun was an entertainer in the Nigerian music industry, an award winning rapper from Ogun state Nigeria. He rose to stardom when he released the likes of Pon Pon Pon, Ghetto Dreams among other hit singles, Dagrin had an auto crash and was later admitted into a Lagos hospital which later claimed his life on 22nd of April 2010. He’s agreed to be the pioneer of indigenous rapping in Nigeria. He died at the age of 23.
A promising yoruba actress, Bisi who has featured in many nollywood films gave up the ghost on the last day of the year 2012. The reason behind her death was not really confirmed but report says she died of pregnancy complications. She was later buried on January 13th, 2013 at the age of 26.
Arguably one of the leading female singers in Nigeria during her time, Susan Oluwabimpe a.k.a Goldie who was known for her hit tracks in the music industry left the sinful world on February 2013. The reason of her death is still strange to many. Shortly after she arrived her home in Nigeria from the 2013 Grammy Awards in California, She complained of slight headache which claimed her life in later after being rushed to the hospital. she died at the tender age of 30.
Another award winning songstress who left her fans in shock when her death was pronounced 2 years ago at the age of 34. She died of lung failure after being in coma for 15 days in a US hospital. She was buried amid tears on Friday July 11, 2014 in her hometown Okpara Inland, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.
Nwaozo Obiajulu aka MC Loph made it to the list of Nigeraian celebrities who died at a very tender age. He had a motor accident in 2011 at the long abandoned Benin-Ore express way on his way to his traditional wedding which claimed his life and his sister’s on the spot. His wife was the only one survived but broke her arm also. Loph was famous for his hit track “Osondi Owendi remix”. He didn’t live up to 40 years of age.
One of the most popular actors in Nigeria, he died on January 2015 from heart infections. aged 36.
