Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, may have likely entered into a political agreement with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of 2019.
This speculation has gone viral, following the on-going closed-door meeting currently going on between Obasanjo and the National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Markafi, in Abeokuta, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.
“Both men have been in the meeting for more than an hour. I am sure that Obasanjo will likely enter a political agreement with the PDP”, a source said.
Post-Nigeria recalls, that members of the Caretaker Committee in Ogun and a frontline aspirant for the National Chairmanship seat, Chief Gbenga Daniel, had also paid Obasanjo a similar visit some days ago.
Emerging report also indicates that Obasanjo may throw his weight behind the PDP, in the forthcoming 2019 Presidential poll, following the perceived failure of the ruling party, the APC.
