6 Dead As Sucide Bombers Hits Mosque in Borno (Graphic Photos)



Two suicide bombers and six other persons died during a suicide bomb attack in Damboa, Borno State, on Friday.

The acting Director, Army Public Relations, Sani Usman, told journalists that the incident occurred at about 5: 15am on Friday when the suicide bombers tried to gain access to a mosque in the community.

“The first suicide bomber targeted Damboa Central Mosque but due to stringent security measures, he could not gain entry. Obviously frustrated, he detonated the explosive and died near the central mosque.

“However, the second bomber veered off and gained entry into another smaller mosque. He detonated the bomb that killed him and six other worshippers. One person was wounded in the attack.

“The wounded victim has been taken to a hospital while efforts are on to clear the rubbles. Troops and other security agencies have been mobilized to the area,” Usman said.
