Hector Bellerin is set to sign a new contract with Arsenal following further discussions, according to his agent.
The Spanish youngster has established himself as a key member of Arsene Wenger’s first team, after signing from Barcelona in 2011.
And while the Catalans have long been linked with a reunion with the former La Masia student, agent Albert Botines has affirmed that talks over a new deal are close to a conclusion.
“We are speaking and are now a lot closer than we were two weeks ago. In a normal situation he will sign,” Botines told the Guardian.
“Hector is very happy at Arsenal. This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club and it is clear he has made good progress at the club.”
Bellerin played all but two of Arsenal’s Premier League campaign last season and his form has made him a regular member of the Spain Under-21 set-up, although he has yet to receive the call for the senior team.
