Ex Premier League Star Player Facing Life Ban After Racially Abusing Another Player During Match!! (See Who)

The Football Association has charged Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey for allegedly using racially aggravated language towards a Wolves player two months ago.

Shelvey has until November 16 to answer the charge, which stems from their Sky Bet Championship clash on September 17, a game Rafa Benitez’s side lost 2-0 at St James’ Park.

An FA statement read: “It is alleged that in or around the 87th minute of the fixture, he used abusive and/or insulting words towards a Wolves player.

“It is further alleged that this breach of Rule E3(1) is an ‘Aggravated Breach’ as defined in Rule E3(2), as it included reference to ethnic origin and/or race and/or nationality.”

The charge comes after a lengthy investigation into the incident and, should Shelvey accept it, he would face a minimum five-match ban.

Should he reject the charge, Shelvey would have to go before an Independent Commission to determine whether he is guilty.
